JSB Chorales is a collection of short four-part musical works renowned for their stylistic homogeneity. These chorales were originally composed by Johann Sebastian Bach in the 18th century. He first extracted pre-existing melodies from contemporary Lutheran hymns, then harmonized them to create accompanying parts for the remaining three vocal lines. The version of this dataset conventionally used in representation learning research comprises 382 such chorales, with train/validation/test splits of 229, 76, and 77 samples respectively.
