Interim survey data and instruments: teachers as agents of ecological reflection in Bulgarian philosophy and civic education

This deposit contains the interim, de-identified survey materials for a doctoral study on the role of teachers in integrating ecological themes into philosophy and civic education in Bulgarian secondary schools (grades 8-12), conducted by Alexandra Tzvetkova at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" [ORCID: https://orcid.org/0009-0008-0931-7297]. The data come from an anonymous online questionnaire (Google Forms) administered in Bulgarian to teachers of philosophy and civic education. This deposit corresponds to an interim export covering responses recorded between 29 March and 3 June 2026 (92 recorded submissions). Analyses focus on the 84 respondents who explicitly identified as teaching philosophy and/or civic education. No names, schools, or email addresses were collected through the questionnaire, and participation was voluntary and consent-based. The deposit includes three files: an aggregate data workbook (counts and percentages for each closed question, one table per question, computed on the analytic subgroup); the blank survey instrument (Version 2, in Bulgarian with English glosses of the response options); and a recruitment / dissemination log documenting how the survey was circulated. Only de-identified aggregate results are shared. Individual (row-level) responses are not included. Three free-text questions - on barriers to including ecological themes, on how conversations about nature and responsibility arise in lessons, and on STEM-collaboration lesson ideas - are withheld because open text may contain indirect identifiers; they are analysed thematically in the related article. The structured (checkbox) question on reasons for limited or no inclusion is included as an aggregate table. Two instrument versions exist: Version 1 (original) and Version 2 (Version 1 plus the open STEM-collaboration question, added in early May 2026). This is the interim dataset. An expanded dataset (with a larger response sample and qualitative interview material) is planned for early in 2027 and will be deposited as a new version of this record.
