team of researchers went into a forest, located a tree specimen, used transects to measure a 6 meter radius from tree specimen. One to two researchers counted the number of saplings that are the same type of tree as the tree specimen within the 6 meter radius. One researcher counted the number of all adult trees within the 6 meter radius. And one researcher estimated the percentage of light penetration in four random spots within the 6 meter radius. After this researchers would repeat on a different tree outside of the 6 meter radius.
