Detection of microbial pathogens is one of the most critical quarantine operations.The pathogens cause substantial losses to the productivity of crop plants and early detection through rapid diagnosis will be effective means of reducing disease incidence. Seed potato was identified as the most commonly intercepted agriculture commodities at the entry ports of Sri Lanka due to pest infestations.This research is focused on screening quarantine important microbial pathogens associated with imported seed potato through meta-genomic analysis.
