SUPPLEMENTARY EFFECT OF SPIRULINA PLATENSIS ON PERFORMANCE, HEMATOLOGY AND CARCASS YIELD OF BROILER CHICKEN

-A trial was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary supplementations of Spirulinaplatensis on broiler performance, Hematology and organs weights. Two hundred 1-d-old Broiler chickswere randomly assigned to 1 of 4 dietary treatments, consisting of 2 replicates of 25 birds each.Commercial mash starter and finisher diets were supplemented with 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% of Spirulinaplatensis. The Body Weights, Feed Conversion Rate, Hematology, Carcass yield percentage weresignificantly increased by the dietary inclusion of the 1% of Spirulina platensis as compared the controlfed broilers. In conclusion, 1% of Spirulina platensis supplementation significantly increased Bodyweight, decreased Feed Consumption Ratios and improves the Blood Parameters. The Spirulinaplatensis offers a good alternative to improve poultry production.
