The loss of ice cover is considered a major threat to under-ice biodiversity. Biodiversity can be described as taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic diversity. However, the effects of under-ice conditions on the three dimensions of diversity are barely understood. Here, microbial communities of different years (2015, 2017-2021) and layers (upper and lower euphotic zone, euphotic zone, hypolimnion) were assessed based on the 16S rRNA.
