To investigate the function of TRPM7 kinase in the regulation of insulin production and beta cell proliferation, we used a mouse model harboring a single point mutation at the active site of the enzyme Trpm7tm1.1Mkma (K1646R, Trpm7R/R) We then performed gene expression profiling analysis using data obtained from RNA-seq of isolated islets of Trpm7R/R mice and their control littermates after 16 weeks exposure to the obesogenic diet Overall design: Comparative gene expression profiling analysis of RNA-seq data for isolated islets of Trpm7R/R mice and their control littermates (3 mice per genotype)
