We propose an XMM-Newton observation for detecting pulsations from the only young and energetic rotation powered pulsar openParRPPclosePar candidate in the SMCdoublePoint IKT 16. Until now comma mostly accretion powered pulsars and a few slower and older RPPs are known. Our candidate is the only confirmed PWN in the SMC with a non thermal compact source at the center. Detecting pulsars and further characterizing their periodicity comma pulsed spectrum and spin down power would open a new window in the study of RPPs in the SMC and in the population study of this gas-rich system
