The brain contains hundreds of distinct cell types, each with unique morphologies, electrical properties, and functions. Identifying neuronal subtypes is an essential step to understand how the brain works. Drop-Seq provides molecular insights into the diversity and complexity of the brain by characterizing transcriptional profiles of thousands of individual neurons. In this study, we are going to apply this technology to the olfactory areas, which are essential for odor representation and olfactory learning. This project is aimed at classifying neuronal subtypes of these regions to understand how odor information is processed in the brain.
