Forest composition before and after forest fire at Kolari, NW Finland (LTSER)

Tree measurements, composition of vegetation and fungi, soil humidity and humus layer thickness were studied in a 5.5 ha plot in forest, which was burned in 1997 at Kolari, Finnish Lapland. Measurements before and after fire were carried out in 1997, 1998 and 2004. Aim of this study was to explore how forest fire affects in forest composition. Study was carried out by the Finnish Forest Research Institute (FFRI).
