Prairie Vole (Microtus ochrogaster) Intestinal Microbiome

The project employs high-throughput sequencing technology to characterize the intestinal microbiome of prairie voles (Microtus ochrogaster). The highly social prairie voles are an emerging model system in which to study the interaction of the microbiome with the gut-brain-behavior axis. Microbial communities are analyzed and correlated with biology and behavioral outcomes of the animals.
