资源简介:
Juan-les-Pins, it’s not just a scene, it’s for me mythical, like Carnegie Hall for the classic. When you get on this stage, you're in the footprints of the giants" John McLaughlin
Dean of jazz festivals in Europe, famous around the world for its privileged environment, its cultural richness and this spirit of freedom without which there can be no happy art, the Antibes Juan-les-Pins International Jazz Festival is an integral part of French and European culture and heritage.
Created in 1960 in homage to Sidney Bechet, Jazz à Juan has established itself over the decades as one of the legendary manifestations where the memory of jazz is developed, but also and above all where its eternal renewal is asserted. “Jazz à Juan” has, since its inception, presented all jazz, all jazz, and remains an international reference in this field.
From the first edition, revolutionary Charlie Mingus, then a “Genius” named Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Fats Domino, Ella Fitzgerald, John Coltrane... Every year, stars from all over the world perform in summer in the prestigious setting of the Gould pinewood, leaving their prints to posterity, which you can discover throughout the Edouard Baudoin Boulevard. The two ceramists are Pierrot Bruzzi and Edmond Guizol.
