Orthophotos 2022/2023

The Orthophotos are a geobasic database specially produced for Dresden (basic map). This depicts the urban area of the state capital Dresden with the help of uncertified, geo-referenced aerial images in a soil resolution of 20 cm.

Based on the surveying flights carried out almost annually, the original comprehensive material of geo-referenced aerial images (perpendicular images) with 60 % longitudinal and 30 % transverse coverage is available. Initially used as a basis for photogrammetric stereo evaluation, these images are suitable after a differential equalisation as an information layer in a GIS, WMS or similar. These so-called orthophotos are largely freed of position errors (resulting from the recording process and the elevation movement of the terrain) and exhibit the same geometric characteristics of a map – supplemented by the pictorial information of a photograph. As a rule, several orthophotos are assembled into one or more orthophotomosaikens, depending on whether a leaf-free or tiled storage is desired or required.

The orthophoto stock 2022/2023 with a soil resolution of 20 cm consists of 112 orthophotomosaic tiles in a leaf section 1:5 000, the basis of which is again
approximately 500 aerial photographs (perpendicular images) from 2 different pictorial flights.
The south-eastern half of the urban area (including the city center) comes from a flight from 22.4.2023, the northwest half from a flight from 11.3.2022.
