Regional Library Cooperation for Implementation of UN Agenda 2030

The future of any community more than ever depends on the strategic decisions of its members, which means that our users need to be accessed as active citizens who are encouraged by libraries and librarians to support positive social changes. The purpose of the presentation is to raise the level of knowledge and awareness of the library community that without focused national and international action would not change the national library policy, especially from the view of the IFLA International Advocacy Program (IAP) designed to implement the goals of sustainable development and the UN Agenda 2030. Here we have an overview of the regional activities undertaken by the library associations united in the project: IFLA /IAP Regional Project: Unlocking the Potential of Libraries in South-East Europe through Regional Cooperation and SDG according to UN Agenda. Goals: To build practical advocacy skills for librarians in the region of South-East Europe to collect stories and data to show how libraries contribute to Un Agenda 2030. Qualitative impact: ● Impact on awareness regarding UN 2030 Agenda and improvement of advocacy skills ● Impact of survey results towards future actions ● Change in stakeholders’ attitude towards library institutions / organizations (change in policies, including librarians in SDG team, etc.) ● Diversity of participants coming from the whole region, including project countries and neighboring countries
