The purpose of this Service assessment is to document the National Weather Service (NWS) performance in fulfilling its mission of providing timely warnings and accurate forecasts during the passage of Super Typhoon PAKA through Micronesia and the Marianas Islands. The NWS’s products and services, used by emergency managers, media, and others, are key to public safety with regard to severe weather.
