To improve predictive understanding of soil P bioavailability, we conducted nine consecutive soil samplings in a subtropical forest of China, examining two soil layers and applying soluble inorganic phosphorus (Pi) at four rates. Using a modified Hedley fractionation procedure, we quantified the temporal responses of soil inorganic and organic P pools.
