Staphylococcus pseudintermedius strain:56SADR2 Genome sequencing

Staphylococcus pseudintermedius is a bacterial commensal in the dog and the most frequent bacterial pathogen isolated from clinical canine specimens. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (MRSP) are considered important canine pathogens, not only because its potential to cause hard-treatment infection, but also for being a reservoir for resistance genes. Here we report the whole genome sequence of a MRSP strain associated with a ear infection in a dog. This strain belongs to the lineage ST71 and is resistant to multiple drugs.
