该数据集为青藏高原及周边地区史前时代遗址分布数据,研究区主要为青藏高原及周边地区。青藏高原,平均海拔超过4000m,是世界上海拔最高、面积最大的高原,是地球上最不适宜人类长期生活的地区之一。考古遗址出土的遗存是古人类活动遗留下的直接证据。该数据集原始数据数字化自青藏高原文物普查和考古调查结果(中国文物地图集青海分册和西藏分册),主要根据其中的遗址分布地图进行了地图数字化,获取了经纬度坐标和海拔。遗址点共计6950处,大部分分布于高原北部地区,遗址的年代范围分布在7000BP至2300BP之间,遗址海拔分布在850m-5447m之间。本数据集对于研究史前时代人类向青藏高原扩散的过程与动力等与青藏高原、史前时代人类活动相关的研究具有参考价值。

This dataset contains distribution records of prehistoric archaeological sites in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its surrounding areas. The study area primarily covers the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its adjacent regions. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with an average elevation exceeding 4000 meters, is the highest and largest plateau globally, and one of the areas on Earth least conducive to long-term human settlement. The relics unearthed at these archaeological sites serve as direct evidence of ancient human activities. The original data of this dataset was digitized based on the results of cultural relic censuses and archaeological surveys in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, specifically from *Atlas of Chinese Cultural Relics: Qinghai Volume* and *Atlas of Chinese Cultural Relics: Tibet Volume*. Map digitization was conducted mainly using the site distribution maps included in these publications to acquire longitude and latitude coordinates and elevation data for each site. A total of 6950 site points are documented in this dataset, with most distributed in the northern part of the plateau. The dating range of the sites spans from 7000 BP to 2300 BP, and their elevation ranges from 850 m to 5447 m. This dataset provides valuable reference for research on prehistoric human activities related to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, including the process and driving forces of prehistoric human dispersal into the plateau.
