Fusarium Head Blight modifies fungal endophytic communities during infection of wheat spikes

We used amplicon sequencing to assess the fungal diversity of endophytic communities in wheat flowering bracts (glumes, lemmas, and paleas) and kernels during flowering and early kernel development. Simultaneously, we assess the changes in fungal communities during a Fusarium head blight attack. We performed this analysis on samples from two fields during two consecutive years (2016-2017).
