Eletronic supplementary material Overcoming challenges to access ecological function: A marine soft-bottom perspective

This document pertains to the supplementary material of the article titled "Overcoming challenges to access ecological function: A marine soft-bottom perspective." In this research, the primary objective was to systematize the main challenges in accessing functioning in marine sediments and propose pathways to overcome them. The present supplementary material consists of nine tables (S1-S9) that present the data obtained through the literature review. These tables provide information about the reviewed articles (Table S1), key issues (Table S2), terminologies adopted by the authors (Table S3), traits used (Table S4), measured functions (Table S5), adopted analyses (Table S6), trait measurements (Table S7), platforms used for trait search (Table S8), and the taxa used in each study (Table S9).
