Data for: Incidence and Morbidity of Radiation-Induced Hemorrhagic Cystitis in Prostate Cancer

We completed an institutional, review board-approved, retrospective chart review of 739 patients who underwent radiation therapy for prostate cancer or bladder cancer from January 1, 2000 to September 20, 2015. Medicare coding for radiation, prostate cancer, and bladder cancer were used to obtain patient records using diagnosis codes 185, 188.0-188.9, V10.51, and V10.46, with procedure codes 92.20 – 92.2. Inpatient and outpatient records from two Detroit Medical Center hospitals (Detroit Receiving and Harper Hutzel Hospital) were reviewed. The primary outcome was the incidence of hemorrhagic cystitis after radiation for prostate cancer.
