Yolkin Ameliorates Effects of the Psychic Stress on the Contact Sensitivity, Cell Proliferation, and Cytokine Production in Mice

The effects of acute immobilization stress in BALB/c mice on the contact sensitivity to oxazolone was investigated. The mice were administered yolkin in the drinking water during the stress. Concanavalin A (ConA) and lipopolisaccharide (LPS) induced splenocyte proliferation, interferon ɣ (IFN ɣ) and interleukin 6 (IL-6), as well as the ear edema were inhibited by the stress but normalized by yolkin. The increased number of pustules in the auricles and hydrocortisone serum level following stress were also normalized by yolkin. The results revealed normalizing effect of yolkin on the immune parameters in stressed mice. The detailed description of the dataset is presented in readme.txt file.The experimental methodology is included in the linked publication.
