Mask Wastes Disrupt Soil Microbial Community and Decrease Soil Quality

The escalating production of mask wastes poses a global challenge to ecological and biological health. However, the environmental risks of mask waste on soil health remain poorly understood. This study suggested that mask wastes disrupted soil health and metabolic function via combining with other pollutants, providing a novel insight on the potential risks of disposable face masks to ecosystems.
