Molecular epidemiology of Animal African Trypanosomosis in southwest Burkina Faso

The data presented relates to the article entitled: “Molecular epidemiology of Animal African Trypanosomosis in southwest Burkina Faso”. Blood samples were collected in April and May 2019 in the Hauts-Bassins, Cascades and Sud-Ouest regions of Burkina Faso. Clinical data were recorded on the sampled animals, then several diagnostic techniques for AAT were used. The parasitological diagnosis (BCT) was carried out in the field in addition to an entomological survey. The molecular and serological diagnoses are carried out in the CIRDES laboratory and involved the detection of trypanosome DNA by PCR, the detection of antibodies by Indirect ELISA and the detection of antigenic variants of Trypanosoma brucei gambiense.
