Temperature, humidity, wind profiles from Windsonds

This dataset comprises atmospheric profiles collected using the Windsond S1H3, a lightweight radiosonde (12 g) developed by Sparv Embedded, Sweden. The instrument, housed in a styrofoam cup, records pressure, temperature, relative humidity, latitude, longitude, wind speed, and wind direction at approximately 1-second intervals. Wind measurements are derived independently from GPS signals, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

To ensure data quality, corrections have been applied to address sensor-specific biases. Pre-launch temperature and humidity measurements, collected without ventilation, were adjusted by comparing them with the initial ventilated profile data. Additionally, daytime solar radiation effects, which introduced a systematic overheating bias of approximately +1 °C, were corrected based on comparative analysis with co-located Vaisala RS41-SGP radiosonde profiles.
