A global ten-day average microwave land surface emissivity (MLSE) dataset from FY-3D satellite in 2021-2022

Microwave land surface emissivity (MLSE) atlas is an important prerequisite for satellite data assimilation. A set of ten-day average FengYun-3D (FY-3D) MLSE atlas (New_FY3D) was constructed by the two global MLSE daily product datasets, clear-sky (FY-3D1) and clear/cloudy (FY-3D2) retrieved from the same set of FY-3D Micro-Wave Radiation Imager (MWRI) Level-1 brightness temperature (BT) data from 2021 to 2022, respectively. Then, based on the 6.925GHz MLSE atlas of AMSR-E and the 150GHz MLSE atlas of AMSU-B, MLSE estimation at 6.9 GHz and 150 GHz frequencies were made for New_FY3D. The New_FY3D atlas has good MLSE phenological variation for typical land cover types, and it is better than the international mainstream TELSEM2 MLSE atlas, with standard deviations of 6.7K and 7.0K for the observed minus simulated (OMB) of FY-3F MWRI-Ⅱ L1 BT simulation, respectively. The dataset spatial resolution is 0.25° with equal latitude and longitude projection(1400 samples * 720 lines). And the dataset temporal resolution is ten-day. Therefore, the dataset has a total of 36 NC format files throughout the year. Each NC format file includes 14 channel emissivity with vertical and horizontal polarization at 7 frequencies (6.925, 10.65, 18.7, 23.8, 36.5 , 89.0 and 150.0 GHz).
