Proteome database of Clostridium perfringens B str ATCC 3626

Clostridium perfringens is a Gram-positive anaerobic bacterium capable of forming spores, and is a known human pathogen. This work sought to provide fundamental proteomic information of the species by parsing the UniProt proteome file of C. perfringens B str ATCC 3626 using an in-house MATLAB proteome analysis software. The resulting proteome database comprises protein name, amino acid sequence, number of residues, molecular weight and nucleotide sequence of protein. The work should find use in informing molecular experiments aiming to understand the genes involved in pathogenesis in C. perfringens.
