Wet Willow Wildlife Project Lancs WT

Records were collected through the Lancashire Wildlife Trust’s Wet Willow Wildlife project, a Species Survival Fund initiative improving wet willow habitat across Greater Manchester. This dataset contains observations of willow tit (including presence and absence), moth species and hellebores, gathered through structured volunteer surveys and targeted fieldwork. The resource offers a snapshot of species linked to wet woodland and supports local conservation work.
The dataset covers records collected between 2024 and 2025 across Greater Manchester, with occasional records from the wider North West. Each record includes grid reference, date and verification status, with coordinates checked against site descriptions. Duplicate entries - where species, grid reference, date, abundance and notes matched - were removed. Verification status varies due to a mix of trained surveyors and community recorders. Willow tit surveys followed a standardised methodology, while moth and hellebore observations were collected through a combination of timed sessions and opportunistic recording.
