Transient cold stress at the tetrad stage skews the auxin-mediated energy metabolism balance in pollen of Chinese cabbage

Cold stress causes a decrease of auxin level in developing microspores at the Tetrad stage, disturbs auxin mediated starch related energy metabolism balance, and ultimately results in reduced pollen fertility. These results not only provide a novel concept for studying the mechanism of pollen development in response to CS, but also have theoretical implications for agricultural production and resistance breeding.
