By analyzing the transmission and accumulation of polystyrene and cadmium single and combined pollution in the body of the Bellamya aeruginosa through the food chain, this study reveals the enrichment situation of polystyrene and cadmium combined pollution in the Bellamya aeruginosa at a high trophic level. It also analyzes its effects on the physiological and ecological toxicity, mechanisms, and transcription characteristics of the Bellamya aeruginosa. Overall design: The polystyrene microplastic solution was ultrasonically treated for 10 minutes in an ultrasonic machine to ensure it was fully dispersed. Ten different concentrations were set up, including a control group, a cadmium treatment group (low, medium, high), a polystyrene treatment group (low, medium, high), and a combined treatment group (low, medium, high). The algal solution with the added concentrations of cadmium and microplastics was fed daily, and the water was replaced regularly. On the 42nd day, the transcriptional effects on the Bellamya aeruginosa were measured.
