Dataset: GlideRite® rigid stylet vs Flex-it® articulated stylet for intubation with videolaryngoscopy in patients with semi-rigid cervical collar: a randomized trial

This dataset contains the clinical and procedural outcomes from a randomized controlled trial comparing the GlideRite® rigid stylet and the Flex-it® articulated stylet. Eighty adult patients undergoing elective surgery were randomized to undergo tracheal intubation using a GlideScope® with a hyperangulated blade. To simulate cervical instability, a semi-rigid cervical collar was installed following the induction of anesthesia. The primary endpoint captured in this dataset is the intubation duration in seconds. Additionally, it includes secondary clinical outcomes such as tracheal tube handling duration, intubation failure rates, Intubation Difficulty Scale scores, and the ease of stylet removal. For robust statistical replication, the data supports an intention-to-treat analysis where failed intubations are assigned a maximum time of 180 seconds.
