We describe soil fungal community responses to low and high intensity burning in a Ponderosa pine forest ecosystem. Using ITS2 amplicon sequencing from soils in a paired design with pre and post burn samples we characterize community shifts. Based on analyses, the communities change following a fire and high intensity burns lead to a much more dramatic community turnover.
