The growing significance of artificial intelligence (AI) has increased the prominence of AI topics in university curricula. However, these offerings are mostly limited to fundamentals, algorithms, and applications, with specific hardware considerations often neglected. This article proposes a method for media-didactical design of AI hardware courses aimed at addressing this gap. First, we position relevant courses within the framework of the Dagstuhl Triangle. Next, we present the action-oriented foundation for both course design and learning. We then showcase two exemplary courses, sharing the experiences gained from their implementation. Finally, we outline the systematic adoption of such courses in an online format, which facilitates the transfer of the results to other topics or institutions, with a particular focus on the disruptive potential of AI in digital transformation.
