Panshanger Barbastelle Survey 22 June 2016 21:15-23:15 Justin A T Halls EM3+ 384ksps 16bit Neumic at 5% Weather Luton 9:50 17C 94% 1018hPa 1.5m/s Variable waning gibbous First in a series of Barbastelle surveys at Panshanger with multiple teams of recorders and detectors. Started form the office buildings and deposited the QMC S200 static recorders adjacent to the orangery. Then along the path to the old oak and left to a clearing on the edge of the wood where the Tascam DR05 was located. The I followed the edge of the wood back to the remains of the house, along the main track to the quarry, then left along a grass track skirting the quarry. Went up into the wood well under the canopy, re-emerging a little further along the grass track. A glade opened into the wood where a Barbastelle was heard clearly and a couple of very faint passes when tuned to 35kHz but not seen on the display. Then went further into the wood to meet the others at the old oak and retrieved the Tascam. Went back via the orangery to retrieve the S200.
