资源简介:
Open-cast coal mining has a major environmental impact. The pit opened up for the removal of coal is filled with previously removed materials and covered with a thin layer of topsoil. The profile of the reconstructed soil is profoundly modified, with negative repercussions on its physical, water, chemical and biological attributes. The slow and irregular revegetation favors surface runoff and severe erosion, which exposes the pyrite-rich waste rock layer, which causes an intense acidification reaction, compromising the ecosystem. In this context, the aim of this project is to continue evaluating, over time, the effect of different vegetation systems on the recovery of the functions of a reconstructed soil in a coal-mined area in order to achieve sufficient quality to maintain sustainable agropastoral systems. To this end, two experiments set up in the summer of 2003/2004, funded by CNPq Notice 01/2002, will be used. The physical, chemical and biological attributes of the soil will be evaluated as a function of the different cover systems and the different limestone applications
