This study aimed to determine why American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius L.) results in poor yields when continuously cropped, by comparing the microbes of soils not used for growing ginseng (CS) with those of soils with a 10-year-crop-rotation following the growth of American ginseng (RS). High throughput sequencing was used to identify bacteria and microorganisms in soil.
