Malaria cases reported in Costa Rica 2022, by origin

In 2022, Costa Rica reported 406 indigenous malaria cases, or cases contracted locally, and 36 malaria cases were imported or corresponded to cases of malaria where the infection could be traced to an area outside the country. That year, Brazil was the country with the highest number of malaria cases in Latin America.
