The goal of this study was to perform transcriptional profiling of epicardium-derived cells, compared to non epicardium-derived cells, obtained from the embryonic heart, to interrogate transcriptional mechanisms that control epithelial to mesenchymal transition. Overall design: RNA sequencing was performed on epicardium-derived cells and non-epicardium derived cells isolated from E12.5 embryonic heart explants that were transduced with adenoviruss to delete MRTFA and MRTF B or SRF, with relevant controls as indicated below.
