Images from an Archaeological Watching Brief at Middle Orchard, Orchard House Lane, Holywell Hill, St Albans, Hertfordshire, October 2023

This archive consists of images from an archaeological watching brief by DRP Archaeology at Middle Orchard, Orchard House Lane, Holywell Hill, Hertfordshire, in October 2023. No archaeological features, finds or deposits were revealed. The excavation demonstrated that there appears to have been Post-Medieval and Modern disturbance in the vicinity, more than likely associated with the modern dwellings surrounding the site. However, it was interesting to note that the natural geology appeared preserved and undisturbed indicating that potential archaeological deposits could well survive in the immediate area.
