This study investigated the microbial consortia within two configurations of partial nitritation/anammox (PN/A) bioreactors (one-stage and two-stage configurations) treating municipal wastewater. Shotgun metagenome sequencing and assembly was performed for different biomass fractions, including granular and flocculent biomass as well as suspended cells, using both Illumina short-read (150 bp PE) and Oxford Nanopore MinION long-reads. In addition v4-v5 16S rRNA gene libraries were sequenced for the same samples.
