French National Identification System of Directory of Businesses and their Establishments

SIRENE (Système Informatique pour le Répertoire des ENtreprises et des Etablissements) is the national repository identification of companies and their establishments. It concerns units located in metropolitan France, in overseas French departments as well as overseas communities of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Saint-Barthélémy and Saint-Martin.<br/>The SIRENE dataset contains two views, ETABLISSEMENT and UNITE_LEGALE with all information about French businesses. This data will allow you to correct or update your data based on a single repository, recognized by the administration.

- NIC: Number allowing to distinguish the establishments of the same company.
- SIRET: A unique identification number assigned to each establishment by INSEE.

- DATE_CREATION: Date of creation of the establishment.
- TRANCHE_EFFECTIFS: Number of employees in the establishment.
- ANNEE_EFFECTIFS: Year of validity of the establishment's employee bracket.
- ACTIVITE_PRINCIPALE_REGISTRE_METIERS: Activity carried out by the craftsman registered in the trade register.
- DATE_DERNIER_TRAITEMENT: Date of last processing of the establishment in the Sirene repository.
- SIEGE: Whether the establishment is headquartered.
- NOMBRE_PERIODES : Number of periods of the establishment.

- NUMERO_VOIE: Street number.
- INDICE_REPETITION: index associated with the street number.
- TYPE_VOIE : Channel type.

- LIBELLE_COMMUNE_ETRANGER: Name of the municipality for an establishment located abroad
- DISTRIBUTION_SPECIALE: Special distribution of the establishment
- CODE_COMMUNE: code of the municipality.
- CODE_CEDEX: Cedex code.
- LIBELLE_CEDEX: Cedex wording.
- CODE_PAYS_ETRANGER: Country code for an establishment located abroad.
- LIBELLE_PAYS_ETRANGER: Country name for an establishment located abroad.
- DATE_DEBUT: Start date of an institution's history period.
- ETAT_ADMINISTRATIF: Administrative status of the establishment
- ENSEIGNE1, ENSEIGNE2, ENSEIGNE3: First, second and third line of the location or premises in which the activity of the company is carried out.
- DENOMINATION_USUELLE: Common name of the establishment.
- ACTIVITE_PRINCIPALE: Main activity of the establishment during the period.
- NOMENCLATURE_ACTIVITE_PRINCIPALE: Nomenclature of the activity of the business according to the variable ACTIVITE_PRINCIPALE.
- CARACTERE_EMPLOYEUR: Employer character of the establishment.
- CODE_SOUS_CLASSE: Code of the subclass to which the main activity belongs.
- LIBELLE_SOUS_CLASSE: Wording of the subclass to which the main activity belongs.
