Prophage-encoded methyltransferase drives adaptation of community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Our study aimed to describe the virulence factor on a novel phage using genetic deletion and complementation. We found that a methyltransferase was responsible for virulence, and acted by increasing fibronectin binding protein A expression. The files attached are whole genome sequencing of the strains used throughout the project.
