Visual Corpus of Terms

The visual corpus of terms is a system for classifying static visuals used in multimodal research. It consists of two components, the Visual Diagram and the Definition Sheet. The Visual Diagram categorizes static visuals based on the presence and combination of pictorial, linguistic, and numeric info that they contain, as well as their seeming purpose and relation to a written text. The Definition Sheet provides explicit definitions and descriptions of the types of static visuals used in multimodal research.
