资源简介:
This FAIRsharing record describes: ### What is being measured? This metric evaluates whether the metadata includes explicit details regarding the funding associated with the research object. The assessment checks for structured funding references within both the landing page metadata and the central records held by DOI registration agencies (such as DataCite or Crossref). Specifically, it verifies that fields such as fundingReferences (DataCite) or funder (Crossref) are populated with at least a funder name and, ideally, an award number or a persistent identifier for the funding body (e.g., a ROR ID or Crossref Funder ID). ### Why should we measure it? Under FAIR Principle R1.2, data must be associated with detailed provenance to support its reuse. Funding information is a critical element of "administrative provenance," as it links a research output to the specific project and financial context that enabled its creation. This is useful because: * Contextual Integrity: It provides context regarding the broader research programme or mission under which the data was generated. * Compliance and Auditing: It provides a machine-actionable way for institutions and funding bodies to monitor open data mandates and track the return on investment for specific grants. * Discovery: Many researchers and aggregators search for data based on the sponsoring organisation.
