Metagenomic and metatranscriptomic analyses of bovine lung tissue samples from feedlot cattle

To investigate the lung microbiome and virome of feedlot cattle with bovine respiratory disease (BRD) and without BRD, RNA sequencing and full-length 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene sequencing were conducted on post-mortem bovine lung tissue samples collected from feedlot cattle from March 2024 to May 2025 in Australia.
