Cotton crop, importance to collect wild, resequencing efforts to under diversityAbout the Guadeloupe population (Ano et al. 1982): co-existence of G. hirsutum race Marie-Galante and G. barbadense on the island; this population in the easternmost part of island representing a distinct population and usual in their habit. Small seeds (seed index 4.43g) covered with brown or dark green fuzz and genuine khaki-colored fibre. Very low 13.9% ginning yield suggestive of being truly wild, according to (Fryxell 1979) claiming at low as 7% lint percentage; jfw suggested anything below 15% os likely truly wild.
