Exposure of Ascaris suum larvae to red clover extract or biochanin A

Transcriptomic analyses with the parasitic nematode Ascaris suum indicated that Biochanin A exerts its antiparasitic effect by interfering with membrane fluidity, while other compounds within the pulp extract may suppress its metabolism and expulsion, thereby generating a synergistic effect with potential to mitigate anthelmintic resistance Overall design: Nematodes were exposed to 100 uM of biochanin A, 200 ug/mL red clover extract, or control solvent for three hour priors to RNA extraction. All samples were treated in triplicate.
