The contrasting role of fire in shaping landscape genetic patterns of small mammals across two islands

This dataset includes genetic data of three northern Australian native mammals, spatial coordinate data, and landscape variables. We collected genetic samples from across the Tiwi Islands (Bathurst and Melville). Samples of northern brown bandicoots and northern burshtail possums were sent to the external laboratory DArTseq and samples of black-footed treerats were sent to AGRF for extraction and sequencing. We then conducted population genetic analyses to assess genetic diversity and genetic structure of each species across the two islands. Lastly, we conducted a landscape genetic analyses to how spatial layers of landscape variables might explain genetic structure patterns.
