Catholic Missions in Colonial Africa (1929)

This dataset is based on the 1929 Atlas Hierarchicus (AH) by Karl Streit, published by Boniface Press (Paderborn, Germany). The dataset features information from maps and statistical tables contained in the AH. Overall, it provides information on 770 mission stations that were established before 1929. For the purpose of geo-referencing, the AH maps were digitized and where necessary complemented with additional information on historical place names.
