Grapholitha molesta Transcriptome or Gene expression

The oriental fruit moth, Grapholitha molesta, is an important pest of most stone and pome fruits and causes serious damage to the fruit industry worldwide. The insect pest has been mainly controlled through application of insecticides; as a result, the G. molesta has developed resistance to many different types of insecticides. Understanding of the molecular mechanisms that govern insecticide resistance would allow to generate novel and sustainable strategies in the management of this insect pest. To identify genes associated with insecticide metabolism and resistance, we have, de novo sequenced the transcriptome of G. molesta.
